In recent years, donning an ugly Christmas sweater has become something of a popular American tradition — one that, unlike the Starbucks holiday cup war, exists in a jolly demilitarized zone free of controversy and anger. Ugly, holiday-themed sweaters transcend nations and borders, and have made their way into closets of people from all walks of life. It used to be they were just an unironically terrible fashion choice, but now they’re a stunning symbol of the joy and fun of the holiday season.
Last holiday season, the Fiverr.com team decided it would be fun to combine the growing popularity of ugly Christmas sweaters with one of its most popular services: illustrations. Specifically, caricatures — one of the marketplace’s more than 150 categories amassing over 4 million individual services.

Fiverr hit up some of its best illustrators and cartoonists to draw and share caricatures of a few people they admired. The response was amazing. People absolutely loved their characters — which generated in the Fiverr headquarters a slight addiction to spreading seasonal joy.
So, Fiverr decided to do it again this year, and this time the team is looking to go even bigger. They want to throw the biggest #SweaterParty the world has ever seen.
And you’re all cordially invited.
This year, everyone can get in on the super festive action by joining what Fiverr hopes will be the largest #SweaterParty the world has ever seen — and you can save yourself the itchiness of an ugly sweater.

All you have to do is visit fiverr.com/sweaterparty, pick a style from one of the artists and then order their service, starting at just $5.
You’ll then choose the sweater design you want, and within 1-3 days they’ll send you a fun and festive digital caricature that you can save and share via social media.
Next, share your caricature with the hashtag #SweaterParty.  You’ll be added to the Sweater Party’s virtual party that will feature all of the caricatures — and you’ll have a chance at your caricature taking a turn on a digital billboard in Times Square. And even if you’re not in New York City, Fiverr will live stream the billboard online so you won’t miss your 15 minutes of holiday-cheer-spreading fame. The billboard will run for two weeks, starting Nov. 17.
It’s an easy, fun way to spread festive holiday love all over the digisphere and within your own online community.
There’s plenty of drama surrounding the holiday — whether it’s stress about traveling, last-minute gift-shopping or extreme anger about a certain coffee chain’s cup decor. So why not take a couple minutes this year to participate in Fiverr’s #SweaterParty and spread some festive fun and cheer with friends and family?
